It’s a summer of transition for Fiona MacGregor and Meg Jordan.
Fiona just passed the New York state bar exam and is celebrating the successful navigation of the life plan she has been dreaming of since she was twelve. Meg is just about to move back home to Seattle to join the family veterinary practice after eight years of school and internship. Unaware of one another, their focuses are on opposite sides of the country and their dreams revolve around what the next step in their careers will bring. A hot summer day at a Morningside Heights coffee shop changes all of this when the cries of motherless kittens bring the two women together and Fiona reveals a secret—surprising everyone, even her.
